The hardcore / underground scene experienced something that was only a matter of time; mainstream attention. This gave rise to band after band of what would soon come to be thought of as insincere duplicates with ever lessening creative value. In short, the underground community had been co-opted by mainstream interests and was losing sight of what was important - the love of music and the community around them. Enter Bane's first studio album in three years - The Note. An unabashedly unapologetic 10 song wake-up call to everyone who has somehow lost their way and become disillusioned with the state of today's underground music scene.

Most people i know would disagree but this cd might be better than give blood. We had to wait a long time for this one and it delivered. pot committed and end with an elipsis are pretty sweet

2/10/2006 by Lexy from Las Vegas, NV Rating:
Definitely not their best release ever but this CD was okay. I listen to it occasionally but Give Blood is still the CD I'm constantly listening to.

BANE! THE NOTE! THE CONFUSSION? I got this cd to get the free tshirt, which was only available in the U.S. so I didnt get it. Regardless not a bad release but it aint no give GIVE BLOOD! But I suppose if it was it wouldnt be the Note.

11/27/2005 by Agnes from Dunkirk, NY Rating:
Kinda disappointed. Not as good as their other releases. Definately not as good as Give Blood. The recording kinda sucks to, which makes the overall sound less appealing. Yet its generic hardcore and that's what I expected. And I like these guys so, yea pick up this cd

9/29/2005 by Luke from Laramie, WY Rating:
With Bane's 3rd full-length record, there is a sense of maturity about it. There are those songs that rip and roar with that traditional sense of Bane, the up-beat songs, Aaron's unique style of yelling, those sweet melodics that make their way in to an occasional guitar fill. But now Bane has "ante'd up" bringing new elements to the table, including "End with an Ellipsis." When I first heard this live, I knew I was in for a treat with "The Note." I highly reccommend this release as it is incredibly fluid and a good brief listen. Not to mention Zach gets a crack at doing vocals, which are nothing short of amazing for anyone who knows of Silent Drive.

8/14/2005 by Ariel from Lancaster, CA Rating:
If your a fan of melodic hardcore...such as Good Riddance, and Comeback Kid...than this album should be right up your alley. It's good...but not that great. Sometimes it can get a little boring. Pot Commited and Swan Song are my favorites. It's definitely worth the buy.

6/14/2005 by Matt from Higganum, CT Rating:
Definately pick this up if you like Bane. It's great and will soon become a favorite. Solid, just get it its excellent.

5/27/2005 by Paul from Frederick, MD Rating:
this album is a solid release from these hardcore giants. unforunately it didn't come close to "it all comes down to this" or even "give blood." while listening, i felt like it was missing something the other two albums had. although it is solid, the album seems like any other hardcore album being released today. there are no cool intros or breakdowns or anything that really makes it stand out except for the last song. bane always played something a little different than the same old hardcore garbage but "the note" is really average. this is disappointing because they have been my favorite band for a long time and im not just writing this to make fun of them. by the way has anyone seen their terrible commercial on mtv? another sign that bane just aren't what they used to be.

if this was bane's first album i don't think people would rate it so highly nor would the band gather a large following as they do today.

5/22/2005 by Drew from Willard, MO Rating:
Amazing. I've been waiting so long for this to come out. Bane is the best hardcore band out their today hands down. The Note isn't what Give Blood is, but Give Blood is a career defining record. The Note is an expanison of that career. Lyrically, Aaron Bedard delivers again especially on track 6 My Therapy which maybe the best Bane song yet and in my opinion tops Can We Start Again.

5/21/2005 by Ryan from Tucson, AZ Rating:
If you liked BANE-Give Blood, you will love this CD! This band has produced another great record and I cannot wait to see them live.

There is not a single song that I would skip over on this CD! The recording quality is amazing as well!

Purchase this CD because you will be upset at yourself if you did not. This is record that you dont want to miss out on! They also give you a free BANE shirt if you buy it early!
