En La Linea Del Frente (On The Front Line) is a must own for The Casualties' vast Spanish speaking audience. While recording "On The Front Line" with legendary producer Bill Stevenson (Black Flag, Rise Against, Descendents, etc.) lead singer Jorge performed two versions of each song. The English versions found on the initial release and these versions recorded entirely in Spanish. En La Linea Del Frente is an Enhanced CD, featuring The Casualties recent appearance on LATV. It also contains all new artwork and full translation in Spanish, making it a must own collector's item for all fans of The Casualties.

The Spanish version of “On the Front Line” which was released 14 months after the English version. Really phenom. I got it because I heard the music would be faster (which would be quite difficult) but the music is the same, Jorge just recorded all the vocals in Spanish. He just laid down both English and Spanish tracks while recording the English version. Just as aggressive. There are a few subtle differences (besides the obvious…SPANISH VOCALS), such as on track 11, “Tragedia Del Amor”, or “Tragedy” there is an intro of 30 seconds where there is a verse of chanting before going into the regular beginning of the song. Also, there are a few grunts and growls, courtesy of Jorge, throughout the record, that are different than the English version.

Track 13, is actually the Spanish version of “Rebel”, which was released in English 13 days later on the “Punx Unite: Leaders of Today” comp on SideOneDummy and Jake’s own Charged Records. You may have also heard “Rebel” on their DVD “Can’t Stop Us” as it us used a few times on there. “We Don’t Need You” which was the closing track on the English version of “On the Front Line” is not on this version. Instead, the record closes with the Spanish version of “Sounds from the Streets” which was the second to last track on the English version.

So this is hella cool. We’ve all heard a Spanish song on a record or two like NOFX’s “Cantado En Espanol” or Tiger Army’s “Hechizo De Amor” but doing a whole record is really over the top. If you’ve seen “Can’t Stop Us” you saw Jorge ask the punx in Mexico if they wanted him to sing in English or Spanish. I think they opted for English actually but this record shows his dedication to those punx and I think that is pheom. He has really used his Spanish speaking background to do something badass with this.

This CD is enhanced just like the English version. No photo gallery on this one but there is live footage. Instead of playing “Get Off My Back” and “Victims” like the English version they play “Casualties Army” go straight into “On the Front Line” and then “For the Punx”. Great camera work and sound. Jorge uses a wireless mic…odd to see! Oh, and he sings in English on the video!

English version clocks in at 34:53 and this one at 34:50 so there you have it. New artwork as well and all the lyrics in Spanish.

Get the newest one, “Under Attack” then get the live one (when it drops) too!

7/31/2005 by Elizabeth from Rock Hill, SC Rating:
This CD is pretty good. I don't speak spanish, but you really don't have to to like this CD. I also have the english version, and they really aren't different in terms of music. Jorge's voice is alot more clear on this version, and he sounds a bit more angry too. It's a great CD either way, so if you like the Casualties or want a decent streetpunk CD in spaish, this one is for you.

7/11/2005 by Moises from Meriden, CT Rating:
It's a great album. You actually understand Jorge this time around, if you speak spanish of course. Rebelde de Hoi! Dia is my favorite song. Revamped lyrics for us punx latinos and for the people of Latin-America. Nos veremos En La Linea Frente chicos.
