Recorded in the backwoods of Seattle with producer John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, Sleater-Kinney), Crimes is sonically arresting and charged with intent. It’s also the perfect fix for a dopesick rock scene jonesing for nostalgia and schmaltz. Whether they’re aping a not-too-distant past in a 3-car garage or earnestly tugging at young girls’ heartstrings, an alarming number of bands these days seem content to run in place - but not The Blood Brothers. “I’m more interested in noise bands trying to do Japanese pop,” declares Morgan.

I really enjoy this CD. Makes you not just want to break things but it makes you. You can't help but move while listening to most of this CD. I prefer the harder songs on it but the slower ones are really well composed and show a lot of musical talent. I am hard pressed to say I actually like this a little more than Burn, Piano Island, Burn. It is not as hard but all the way through I find myself enjoying it more.

One of my top ten favorite albums i feel this is the best blood brothers cd. BPIB is a good cd but this is just different and that much better. The lyrics are ridiculous as are the instrumentals that go along with it

11/19/2005 by Jamie from Westwood, MA Rating:
another excellent album by the blood brothers. you'll probably recognize the song "love rhymes with hideous car wreck" from various "scene" kids' myspace profiles, but there are also other great songs on the album.

10/30/2005 by Charley from New York, NY Rating:
Amazing band, amazing CD. It's awesome to hear something so unique in an age of cliche scream along melodies. Put down your Hawthorne Hieghts piece of shit and get this.

peace and love charley chaos

10/11/2005 by Nick from Erie, PA Rating:
Granted this cd is good but I prefer listening to Burn Piano Island, Burn. This Adultery Is Ripe. and March On Electric Children

8/10/2005 by Laura from Leeds, United Kingdom Rating:
I've always loved the Blood Brothers but I'm not very keen on this,Not sure why but just prefer their other albums.

7/16/2005 by Carmen from Springfield, VA Rating:
my favorate blood brothers album. it has the perfect combination of catchy earth ridden guitars and beats with spastic synth uppers. not to mention the flawless integration and collaboration of the dual vocals, ranging from depressingly deep to a screeching helium high.

5/11/2005 by Steven from Bayside, NY Rating:
when i bought this i had low expectations but, WOW. amazing album. in my opinion better than burn piano island.... way more progressive and still has that spazzy hardcoreness to it. id definetely recommend it

2/10/2005 by Chris from Bowling Green, OH Rating:
This record is fucking crazy. It's so hard and spastic, you can't help but to love it. That is if you like hardcore craziness. It's so good that not even Whitney's whiny vocals can bring it down. It wouldn't be the same without him. If you're into hardcore or whatnot, GET THIS RECORD!!!

11/18/2004 by Tyler from Dickinson, ND Rating:
This album is not anything like "Burn, Piano Island, Burn" or "March...". That is not a bad thing though. You just have to listen to it like you haven't heard the brothers before and it will quickly become your favorite album of the year. Key songs are 1,2,3,4,5,8,10,12. The rest are amazing as well, but they don't quite jump out at you as much as the others do. I also got a cool button with my order, nothing better than free stuff. I also ordered the law of inertia with The Rise's new cd in it. Have to say that it is as good as Signal to Noise, maybe even a little better. More electronic stuff, a little bit more catchy perhaps. Still very hardcore and heavy though. Not catchy in a bad way though, we aren't talking Story of the year or Linkin Park catchy. Remember, they say fuck record labels, so we all need to raise this band up to a level that no record label could take them to. Raise a glass to the guitarmy.
